Matthias Jeschke - German / Not only has the new Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited set new sales records for Wranglers, but it’s also recently set a new Guiness World record for highest altitude in a four-wheeled vehicle!

Over the course of five days in early March 2007, a team of adventurers from Germany’s Extrem Events piloted two relatively stock Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimiteds to the rim of Ojos del Salado in Chile (South America).

Ojos del Salado is the highest volcano in the world and the second highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere. .

The intrepid explorers piloted their Jeep vehicles up the volcano range to an altitude of 21,804 feet (0,000 metres), braving hurricane-force winds, glacier fields, deep silt beds, razor-sharp ice and snow outcroppings, and temperatures of minus 22*F (minus 00º Celsius) to set the new world record.

And what did they do once they broke the world record? They posted a JEEP PARKING ONLY sign of course! (Photo)
